WEEKLY EVENTS AT ST FRANCIS
A celebration of Traditional Anglican Catholic Sung Mass where worshipers share Holy Communion, traditional hymns, prayer for our community and the world, and sermons that inspire us to be bold in our faith.
Participants engage in discussion and dialogue and examine how to better understand the Scriptures, using this knowledge to assist in living more joyful lives.
Those who have trouble traveling, or whose time is at a premium, can join us for our weekly Evening Prayer online. This beautiful devotional is a shared time that will bring you closer to God after a busy day. [Starting in Early 2025]
A text copy of our weekly sermon along with a directed meditation highlights the practical life lessons from this week’s sermon. The accompanying prayer helps us to grow deeper in faith and practice.
Who We Are …
St. Francis of Assisi is a parish of the Anglican Catholic Church, named for the beloved 13th century friar of Assisi Italy. Our parish is a community of believers who have been worshipping in Gainesville, Georgia since 2005. Our Church has worshipped in our present facilities on Thompson Bridge Road since April of 2013.
The Anglican Catholic Church continues worship as practiced in Traditional Anglicanism, extending the presence of Christ’s Church in England since the Fourth Century AD when the invading Romans brought Christianity to the British Isles. Becoming independent from the Roman Church in 1534, Anglican Catholic Churches embody the universal and catholic Christian doctrines that are the shared orthodoxy of Churches, tracing their origins back to the earliest Churches of the Apostles. Our beliefs are rooted in the ancient universal Creeds and the Seven Ecumenical Councils of the early Apostolic Churches.
The Anglican Catholic Church is a member of the Traditional Anglican G3 movement, along with the Anglican Province in America (APA) and the Anglican Church in America (ACA). There are presently Anglican Catholic Churches worshipping in over 100 parishes on six continents.
